Learning Solidworks is part of my job so I decided to model every part on a 1961 Ferrari California 250GT.
This is going to be a long and labor intensive task. Finding all the correct dimensions, parts information and other materials will be difficult. Most of the Italian cars from the fifties and sixties had little documentation put to paper. These were hand built cars and no two were exactly alike. We all know this famous Ferrari California from Ferris Bueller's Day off. With prices approaching twenty million for many of the originals, owning one is just a dream for most of us. As a designer and inventor, I enjoy working on all kinds of unique and interesting projects. This 1959 Ferrari California 250GT was no exception. I designed and built this car over a period of five years. It now resides in Beverly Hills, California with a view that overlooks the ocean. This car is entirely hand made by skilled artisans from Italy, United Kingdom and the USA. Many of the parts are from original cars and were found all over the world. (more…)
